Not being smart about your headlines
The most important aspect of a blog is your headline. It will be the most seen throughout your blog. It will appear almost everywhere, from the start of your blog to the google search and feed readers. Make your headlines eye-catching and have a sense of urgency to read them. For example:
- 5 reasons you should be doing these exercises
- 10 of the best SEO trends right now
- How to be successful in academic writing
As you can see these headlines give the readers a sense of urgency or curiosity to read further compared to crafting a clever or confusing headline. It is all about drawing readers in, you want to catch their attention instantly with your headline. Never confuse the reader or leave the reader uncurious about your blog. Again, killing your blogs from getting the traction you need.
Plagiarizing other bloggers
I think this is a no brainer. This is already known writing equity to follow regardless of what you are writing. This is where using paraphrasing tools like Rewording comes in handy to make this process quick and easy. However, do not simply copy and paste the content being generated to you. Instead, use it as a guideline in how you can form your blog. Or you can simply use it for inspiration, but never to copy and paste.
We already know consistency in your blogs are important as we will discuss in the next point. Due to this, it can be easy to want to copy content as you run out of ideas of posting every week or however much you post. However, it is simply killing your blog to simply copy and paste due to a lack of inspiration and time. So use tools like Rewording to instead guide you and kick start your writing process.
Not being consistent with your blogs
If you are not posting at least 1 blog a week you are simply not cutting it and will not get enough traffic. When you only post once a month you are simply killing your blog from success. You may be asking why? Well, it’s simply it’s all about traffic to your blogs. If you are getting little to no traction to your 1 post a month. How will you get traction at all?
Therefore, make sure to post more than 4 times a month if you want the best results. Google will simply skip your blog if there is no new content within a certain time frame. This is why posting consistently is key. Make sure you are posting consistently, otherwise you are killing your blogs! So, make sure you are posting consistently.
Not an interesting niche
Now another blog killer is writing about something that no one cares about or simply has no interest in that topic. I think you know what the end results are? If you have no audience then there is no point in blogging in that niche, it will simply get no attention.
So, pick a topic that is interesting and also has an audience. It does not need to be a huge audience range, but enough to get good traffic and enough people reading.
Not being active on social media
Finally, another blog killer is not promoting your blogs on social media. I think it’s evident enough how powerful social media is. So, it is important to ensure you are posting about your blogs and promoting them! After all, social media is free and costs nothing to simply be active in posting and promoting your blogs.
If you already have an audience make sure to interact with them, don’t leave them hanging. Creating a strong community can reflect strongly on your blogs. Readers will anticipate your blog updates and want to read them. Ensure you are interacting with them!
